You'll walk an extended section of the Mandyke path, climb to the top of Clifford's Hill for some wonderful views and walk a big stretch alongside the Kennet & Avon Canal. This is a relatively short, but adventurous walk around the countryside to the south west of Colerne. There is a fair bit of steep climbing on the walk as you descend down into Breach wood and then work your way back up to Colerne through pretty countryside, where you'll then visit the lovely church and pub.

You will enjoy lots of open countryside along the Wessex Ridgeway, visit the small village of Chicklade and then climb up into some majestic woodlands. It's quite a climb up into the woods, so be prepared for a bit of a workout before working your way back down to a reward at the lovely pub in Hindon.

Officially, we're journeying over the border into Gloucestershire here, but it's worth it for this lovely short walk alongside the River Thames. You'll enjoy the river itself before visiting the pretty village of Lechlade with it's locally famous bridge and riverside pub.

This is a good alternative starting point for a walk around the historic site of Avebury. The car park here is free and you start at the largest prehistoric chalk mound in Europe (Silbury Hill) before walking alongside the River Kennet to the Avebury site.

This is a short and casual stroll around the countryside surrounding the pretty village of Slaughterford. Park roadside outside the church and then expect some lovely views, a visit to the Biddestone By Brook and a small patch of woodland walking on this route.
